Using water efficiently saves water and money. The City of Hillsboro Water Department offers a series of rebates to help residential customers save water indoors and outdoors.
Residential Rebate Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must live in a single-family residence within the Hillsboro Water Department’s service area, including a house, condominium, duplex/multiplex, or manufactured home with a single or master meter. Apartment owners currently do not qualify for these rebates.
- The applicant must have a current Hillsboro water account in good standing or be the owner of the master metered (condominium, duplex/multiplex or manufactured home) residence within the Hillsboro Water service area as verified by the Department.
- Applications must include a copy of a proof of purchase receipt from a retailer or plumbing company that specifies the purchase date, purchase price, manufacturer, and model number.
- The application must be received within 90 days of purchase date.
- Prior to approval, an on-site inspection may be required by Hillsboro Water. The total rebate per item will not exceed the receipt amount.
How to Apply
- Purchase and install your water efficiency appliance per the eligibility requirements outlined above.
- Complete a rebate application.
- Hillsboro Water Staff will review your application withing 6-8 weeks of your submission.
Rebates will be mailed in check form to the customer on the utility billing account. Rebates cannot be applied to your utility bill.
Businesses, Nonprofits, Schools, and Homeowners Associations
Businesses, nonprofit organizations, schools, and homeowners' associations with a Hillsboro Water account are eligible for rebates for indoor and outdoor projects that will improve water efficiency. Approved rebates pay for 50% of project costs up to $2,500. Annual program funding is available beginning in July each year until funds have been used.

Other examples of outdoor projects that can receive a rebate include, but are not limited to, rotary nozzles, conversion to drip irrigation, and turf grass removal.
