Traffic crashes are down in Hillsboro, but the number of serious injuries and fatalities related to traffic crashes have increased.

The City of Hillsboro Public Works Department’s traffic engineering team is committed to reducing harm to people on our roadways.

• 41% of crashes are related to aggressive driving
• 15% of all fatal/serious injuries are a result of impaired driving
• Ages 25–44 have the highest rate of crashes and fatality or serious injury
• Pedestrian and bicycle crashes are most likely to result in fatality or serious injury
• 61% of crashes are at intersections
