Celebrate Native American Heritage

Join the City of Hillsboro as we celebrate the rich and diverse culture and heritage of Native Americans in November and throughout the year. These remarkable Americans deeply enrich the quality and character of Hillsboro, the Pacific Northwest, and our nation.

Throughout the 20th century, many attempts were made to designate a day to honor and recognize the contributions of the First Peoples. While several states had celebrations, it wasn’t official until 1990 when President George H.W. Bush approved November as “National American Indian Heritage Month”.
