Meet Eunice Makinde: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Manager for the City of Hillsboro

What Does a DEI Manager at The City of Hillsboro Do?

1. Directs, Plans, Leads, Collaborates, and Promotes key internal DEI strategies, programs, and activities, including strategic planning, policy review and writing, coordination, civil rights compliance, data analysis/application, and interdepartmental coordination.

2. Provide Recommendations to City Leadership and Elected Officials regarding changes to policies to promote DEI practices, and assisting departments in identifying their needs, developing action plans, gaining acceptance and ownership.

3. Develops, Conducts, and Evaluates training and learning programs to increase awareness, understanding and support diversity, equity, inclusion topics, issues, policies, programs and priorities; cultural proficiency; and employee engagement principles in the organization.
