The City of Hillsboro was awarded a $500,000 Brownfield Assessment Grant by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The purpose of the grant is to facilitate redevelopment of properties in the southern portion of the Downtown Urban Renewal Area that have been negatively impacted by known or suspected environmental contamination.
