Housing Needs Analysis
Location: Citywide
Description: The Housing Needs Analysis measures the current state of housing, including supply and types of housing available, and identifies future housing needs. This project will help guide future decision making on policies and programs to meet the housing needs of Hillsboro's diverse residents. The 2023 Housing Needs Analysis will update the previous 2016 analysis.
Current Status: The City is actively recruiting for community members to serve as advisors on the project and share lived experiences. The project is also preforming technical analysis of maps, data and forecasts of demographic and economic trends.

South Hillsboro
Location: Between SW 209th & SE 67th avenues and SW Rosedale Road & SW TV Highway
Description: The innovative 1,400-acre development will include approximately 8,000 new residences, plus streets, schools, parks and trails, town and village centers, and a multi-modal transportation network.
Current Status: Developers Pahlisch Homes and Newland Communities have begun construction on three neighborhoods: Rosedale Parks, Reed's Crossing, and Butternut Creek.

Witch Hazel Village South Comprehensive Planning
Location: South of the Witch Hazel Village neighborhood, east of River Road, and west of The Reserve Vineyards & Golf Club and the South Hillsboro neighborhood
Description: Comprehensive planning for future growth and development continues in the 150-acre Witch Hazel Village South (WHVS) area, which was brought into the Urban Growth Boundary in 2018 to add additional housing to our community.
Current Status: A Draft WHVS Community Plan and Implementation Strategy document will be available for community review and input in the near future. Proposed WHVS Comprehensive Plan and Community Development Code amendments are scheduled for City Council adoption by the end of June 2022.

Hillsboro Technology Park
Location: West of Brookwood Parkway to Sewell Road and North of Evergreen Road to Highway 26
Description: The City is investing in public infrastructure — such as streets, utilities, and services — to encourage business growth in the Hillsboro Technology Park, which includes 260 acres that are reserved for large lot industrial users.
Current Status: An 18-inch water line was installed serving the eastern portion of the Technology Park. A 19-acre site was purchased by the City for utility infrastructure, natural resource mitigation, and the Crescent Park Greenway. A sewer pump station serving the Technology Park is anticipated to be completed in spring 2022 and plans are underway to extend NE Huffman Street.

Downtown Revitalization
Location: The larger Downtown area, including the Main Street commercial district, Baseline and Oak streets, 10th Avenue, light rail corridors, the southwest industrial area, and portions of nearby residential neighborhoods.
Description: The revitalization of Downtown Hillsboro is a high priority for the City. Downtown is the heart of the community, serving as the primary civic gathering spot in Hillsboro.
Current Status: In collaboration with the Hillsboro Downtown Partnership, the City is implementing a business attraction campaign to highlight local entrepreneurs and elevate awareness of Hillsboro’s hip and emerging Downtown scene.

Block 67
Location: The block between SE 6th and 7th Avenue, south of Washington Street and north of Baseline Street
Description: Block 67 is a transit-oriented mixed-use project that enhances vibrancy and activity in Downtown, and provides a critical link between the Historic Downtown Core, the Health and Education District, and Baseline/Oak Commercial Corridor.
Current Status: Detailed project design and financial considerations and public engagement are underway.
