The Hillsboro Police Department offers a variety of events throughout the year to provide services and foster community connections. Find upcoming events on the calendar below.

Basic Mediation Training

Basic Mediation training is an interactive training to develop the skills to help others in mediation and resolve conflict. Mediators are un-biased neutral third-parties. This training will provide you the building blocks on how to aid those in conflict. Training is a cumulative of 32 hours.

There is no cost to attend this training but you must commit to all dates:

  • January 23 from 8am-5pm
  • January 24 from 8am-5pm
  • January 30 from 8am-5pm
  • January 31 from 8am-5pm
  • February 6 from 8am-5pm 

 

 All trainings and workshops will be held at Hidden Creek Community Center. Email the Mediation Program to sign up.

Annual Events

National Night Out

Held on the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out is an opportunity for the community to gather, celebrate, connect with the Hillsboro Police Department, and give crime a going away party. Learn more and request a Police Party Patrol at your National Night Out Event.

Shred It

Hillsboro community members can safely shred personal documents and reduce their risk for identity theft at our biannual Shred It events held in the spring and fall. The events are free, and donations are collected to support the Hillsboro Police Cadet program.

Community Academy

The Community Academy is a FREE, 8-week program that facilitates communication and understanding of the police role in the community. The Academy begins in February each year. Visit the Community Academy webpage to learn more and apply.


An Community Enhancement Team member directs children through the safety course at Safety Town

Safety Town

Safety Town is a week-long, half-day summer camp for children ages six and seven, teaching essential safety concepts like 911 procedures, personal safety, and bike and pedestrian safety. Through engaging activities, including hands-on experiences like calling 911 on a simulator and navigating a traffic course, kids learn practical safety skills while also promoting kindness and physical fitness. To register for the Safety Town 2024, please go through Hillsboro Parks and Recreation after April 24.
