Library on the Loose

Library on the Loose: Hillsboro’s Moving Library

Green and blue Library on the Loose Van

What is Library on the Loose?

Library on the Loose is a van designed to meet all of your library needs—on the go! We realize it’s not always feasible to make it to the library, so this new service allows us to bring the library to you at schools, city facilities, parks, and organizations in the community.

What does it offer?

You can get a library card, return a book, play with some of our STEM toys, or get recommendations from our librarians right in your neighborhood! We will also have a handful of popular books available for immediate checkout. If we don’t have the title you’re looking for handy, we’ll help you reserve the item using the van’s mobile WiFi.

Where can I find it?

Throughout the summer we periodically visit local parks, migrant camps, and some Hillsboro School District summer lunch sites, offering summer reading participation and storytimes. Be sure to follow the library on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter so you can get real time updates on when we’re out and about!
