Come and view Hillsboro’s very own osprey family at Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve!
A pair of osprey have nested at Jackson Bottom every summer since 2013. This year their eggs hatched in late May and the chicks are doing well. They keep getting bigger and bigger as their mom and dad feed them every day.
Come to Jackson Bottom Wetlands Preserve and take a 10 minute walk to the viewing area next to Bobcat Marsh. Osprey Watch volunteers are on hand with spotting scopes and binoculars to help you view activity at the nest and share information with you. See an osprey skull and an osprey egg. View photos from previous nesting seasons. Hear the surprising story of osprey versus goose that transpired in March.
