The 2020 Murphy’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade has been cancelled by event organizers.
Read the cancellation announcement from Murphy's Furniture:
"It is with a true desire of what is best for our community and out of an abundance of caution that Murphy’s Furniture is forced to cancel the 2020 Murphy’s St Patrick’s Parade in Hillsboro. For over 42 years, Our Murphy Family has produced this Parade as a Thank You for Washington County’s Support. With all communities feeling the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19), Murphy’s is taking this step to do what we can to protect the health and safety of All of the Parade Participants & Spectators, most of which are customers, as well as friends and family. Safety during Past Parades has always been our top priority and the cancelation of the 2020 Murphy’s St Patrick’s Parade in Hillsboro is following that tradition.
We feel deeply for those who have been affected. We wish to thank all of the organizations who have spent energy & resources, along with Our Murphy’s Staff, to produce this Parade every year and Murphy’s looks forward to an even Bigger & Better St Patrick’s Parade in 2021. A parade is not possible without the support of participants & spectators. Murphy’s wishes to thank Intel Ears, Hillsboro Optimists, City of Hillsboro, Hillsboro Police Dept., Washington County Mounted Posse, FFA, as well as the over 50 Groups who signed up to participate in this year’s parade.
The health and safety of our Western Washington County Community is Murphy’s top priority and we’re committed to doing our part to help keep everyone safe.
