If you cleaned out your bookshelves recently, in hopes of donating items to the Friends of the Hillsboro Public Library book sale, now you can! On Saturday, September 19, from 10 am until 2 pm, the Friends are hosting a drive-through donation event in the north parking lot of the Brookwood Public Library, 2850 NE Brookwood Parkway.
- Reserve a time on our calendar system, bring your items in NONRETURNABLE boxes or bags during your reserved time.
- Please place your donations in your car trunk or back seat for a “contact-less” drop off for the protection of volunteers and yourself.
- Receipts for your donated items will be available by request.
While the in-person fall book sale is not possible this year, the Friends continue to sell items online. Proceeds from those sales benefits programs of the Hillsboro Public Library. Due to COVID-19 protocols, the Friends have been unable to accept donations brought directly to the libraries. This donation day event enables them to receive the items in bulk, transport them to off-site to quarantine, and then place them online for sale.
The north parking lot will be closed to public parking on September 19 from 7 am until 3:30 pm. The south lot is available for public parking.
