"We're proud that Hillsboro has been one of the leading cities nationally in the percentage and volume of green power purchased by homes and businesses for more than a decade," said Robin Straughan, Sustainability & Resiliency Manager at the City of Hillsboro. “By making the choice to use clean, renewable energy, Hillsboro's businesses, residents, and local government are taking important actions to reduce our climate impact.”

What is green power?

Green power is zero-emissions electricity that is generated from environmentally preferable renewable resources, such as wind, solar, geothermal, biogas, eligible biomass, and low-impact hydro. Using green power helps build demand for the development of new renewable energy capacity nationwide and helps users reduce their carbon footprints.
