The Advanced Manufacturing Training & Education Collaborative of Hillsboro (AM-TECH) acts as a steering committee to assist and guide workforce initiatives in two categories: hiring & sourcing (pipeline) and technical skills training (closing of skills gaps). It also provides a platform for industry partners to share current workforce trends, needs, and learn about relevant legislative and city updates.

The AM-TECH champions public-private partnerships with industry, educational institutions, community organizations and government to support high-growth, high-demand workforce needs in efforts to maintain a skilled and diverse workforce in Hillsboro while creating a robust pipeline.

Notable group collaboration and efforts include:

• Serving on Career Technical Advisory Committees to provide input on curriculum and skill building for K-12 and post-secondary students
• Opportunities to participate in virtual and in-person career fairs and events
• Review of current workforce data and trends to align efforts with short-term and long-term workforce needs
• Access to work-based learning programs, including internships, through Hillsboro WORKs
• Participation in Youth Apprenticeship taskforces
• Regular city, county and regional updates
• Networking and partnership opportunities with industry partners and community-based organizations
