Tammy Wallin
Library Director
Tammy comes to us with a robust background, having served at the Hennepin County Library in Minneapolis, Minnesota, since 2011. Her journey there began as the Circulation Services Technology Manager before transitioning to the role of library services manager in 2015. Before her library career, Tammy was the Humane Education Manager for the Animal Humane Society, a Consultant for NOJ, Inc. and the Family Village Community Center, and an Education Manager for The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. Tammy has a Bachelor of Arts in Music Business.

Magdy Carrillo-Sotomayor
Library Manager, Connect: Customer Experience & Operations at Shute Park Library
In October 2023, Magdy joined Hillsboro Public Library as the new Library Manager for the Connect division at Shute Park Library after a career at Washington County Cooperative Library Services. A native of Puerto Rico, Magdy obtained her bachelor’s degree in social sciences with a major in Labor Relations from the University of Puerto Rico, followed by a master’s degree in library sciences. Including library experience in Puerto Rico, she has also worked in notable organizations in Florida and New York. Magdy has focused on providing bilingual assistance to diverse and underserved populations throughout her career.

Elizabeth López
Library Manager – Access
Elizabeth began working at the Hillsboro Public Library in 2011 starting as a community librarian. She is now the manager overseeing the “Access” workgroup which centers on all aspects of collection management and the belief that the library’s collection of materials is meant to be experienced, instead of just managed and maintained. Elizabeth is deeply committed to our For Everyone/Para Todos mission, utilizing community-driven decision making to identify new avenues for connection to library materials and resources with our community. She loves true crime tv shows, dancing with friends, and reading short stories. Her favorite authors are Juan Rulfo and Benjamin Alire Saenz.

Karen Muller
Library Manager, Connect: Customer Experience & Operations at Brookwood Library
Karen began working at Hillsboro Public Library in 2002, beginning as an on-call librarian and now serving as the Library Manager over the “Connect” workgroup at Brookwood Library. Her work is focused on the daily operations of the library and leading the Connect team in providing excellent customer experiences through welcoming, accessible, and easy to use spaces and services for every person who visits the library. In her spare time Karen loves to travel, cook, and spend time with her family. Her favorite books are Bel Canto by Ann Patchett and Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak.

Linda Osuna
Library Manager – Explore
Linda has been with Hillsboro Public Library since 2008 and is a Library Manager who oversees “Explore”, encompassing our programming and events, library resources, community engagement and outreach, and our volunteer services program. She is passionate about the importance of providing programming and services that best serve the entire community.
