The Library of Things at Hillsboro Public Library offers things for patrons to checkout – from Arduino kits to ukuleles to cake pans. The collection supports lifelong learning and creativity by providing the physical tools necessary to explore new areas of interest and learn new skills. 

You can check out over 350 unique things and more than 600 board games from this dynamic collection!

How to Use the Library of Things

Both Hillsboro Brookwood Library and the Hillsboro Shute Park Library have a Library of Things collection.

  • All items check out for one week and are both holdable and renewable.
  • Items must be held, picked up, and returned at their respective location.
  • A $5 cleaning fee will be applied for any Thing that is returned dirty.
  • Replacement costs may apply if a Thing is returned broken or with missing parts.
