What is a Collaboratory?
“Collaboratory” is a blend of “collaboration” and “laboratory.” This word reflects the collaborative community at both library makerspaces. While you won’t find beakers in these laboratories, you will find opportunities for discovery and exploration.
- The Collaboratory is open to makers of all ages and abilities.
- Anyone under 10 must be accompanied by a responsible caregiver.
- Some equipment can be hot or sharp. There are age limits on some tools for safety, but each piece of equipment can be used with the active participation of an adult caregiver.
- All users are asked to follow the Collaboratory Code of Conduct to ensure a welcome and safe space for everyone.
