Financial Assistance

Hillsboro Parks & Recreation provides financial assistance to Hillsboro residents with qualifying income.

Eligible Programs

Financial assistance can be requested for programs/classes, community gardens, and affiliated recreational youth sports leagues.

Students in the Hillsboro School District who live outside the City of Hillsboro may be eligible for financial assistance for Hillsboro Youth Basketball, Hillsboro Youth Volleyball, and Zone after school program.

One discount per family member, per registration period is allowed. (Fall, Winter/Spring, Summer)

Once the financial assistance has been approved, participants must register in person or by phone.

Approval Process

Please allow up to two weeks for processing and approval.
Applicants will be notified by phone or email.
Up to 50% of the cost of the program will be awarded.

An application is valid for one year from approval date. You may apply for financial assistance at any time during the year.

Youth Arts Scholarship

Youth Art Scholarship

Hillsboro Parks & Recreations offers Youth Arts Scholarships due to a grant from the Richard B. Siegel Foundation to provide opportunities for youth to participate in the arts.

If awarded, the scholarship may be used by the applicant for any youth or teen class or camp taking place at the Walters Cultural Arts Center.

To Qualify

You must be a resident of the City of Hillsboro, or a current student at a school in the Hillsboro School District.
Households whose income falls below the Federal Free or Reduced Meal Guidelines are eligible (see chart below.)
You must be 18 years or younger.

Approval Process

Please allow up to two weeks for processing and approval. Applicants will be notified by phone or email.

Once the scholarship has been approved, it will be added to your Hillsboro Parks & Recreation account.

Approved scholarships will provide 100% of the registration fee for up to two classes. Approval for additional classes is dependent on availability of funds.
