Annual Events
National Night Out
Held on the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out is an opportunity for the community to gather, celebrate, connect with the Hillsboro Police Department, and give crime a going away party. Learn more and request a Police Party Patrol at your National Night Out Event.
Shred It
Hillsboro community members can safely shred personal documents and reduce their risk for identity theft at our biannual Shred It events held in the spring and fall. The events are free, and donations are collected to support the Hillsboro Police Cadet program.
Community Academy
The Community Academy is a FREE, 8-week program that facilitates communication and understanding of the police role in the community. The Academy begins in February each year. Visit the Community Academy webpage to learn more and apply.
Safety Town
Safety Town is a week-long, half-day summer camp for children ages six and seven, teaching essential safety concepts like 911 procedures, personal safety, and bike and pedestrian safety. Through engaging activities, including hands-on experiences like calling 911 on a simulator and navigating a traffic course, kids learn practical safety skills while also promoting kindness and physical fitness. To register for the Safety Town 2024, please go through Hillsboro Parks and Recreation after April 24.
