Mediation Program

Western Washington County community members can access free conflict resolution services and trainings through the City of Hillsboro Mediation Program.

Please note, we do not offer family law mediation. For family law mediation, please contact Washington County Conciliation Services at 503-846-3428.

Our Mediation Services

Mediation is a confidential, voluntary process where parties in dispute resolve their own conflicts with the assistance of an impartial third party: the mediator.

Our program is designed to help individuals communicate with each other and jointly resolve issues to avoid conflict escalation.

Mediations typically:

  • Can take place in person or virtually on a date, time and location agreed upon by all parties.
  • End when parties reach a mutual written agreement, which is kept in good faith and not legally binding.
  • Last about two hours.
