Purpose:
The first phase of the public stormwater system on NE 12th Avenue was constructed in 1964 and the second phase was completed in 1978. The entire storm system has reached the end of its service life and needs to be replaced. The public storm system collects stormwater from NE 12th Avenue and drains into Turner Creek. There is no stormwater treatment for this part of the public storm system and the stormwater draining into Turner Creek is currently considered untreated.

Proposed Repair

The repairs include replacing all the existing public stormwater system within NE 12th Avenue. The repairs will realign the stormwater system within the street and add water quality measures to provide stormwater treatment. When completed the stormwater draining into Turner Creek from NE 12th Avenue will be considered treated and this will qualify as an outfall retrofit project.

The repairs include:

  • Replace seven non-sumped catch basins with new sumped catch basins
  • Replace 786 feet of concrete storm pipe
  • Install a new water quality pretreatment manhole
  • Install a new underground water quality filter vault
  • Repair the existing outfall
