Project Background

On May 29, 2024 an inspection of the roadway near the bridge on 24th avenue resulted in an emergency closure. The closure was made to allow the area to be more fully inspected by an outside agency with specific expertise. The closure was due to structural issues with the roadway approaching the bridge, not the bridge itself.

The bridge is not damaged. Water intruded behind the walls supporting the earth and rock that hold up the roadway bed on the north side of the bridge creating a void under the asphalt just before it connects with the bridge structure. 

This project is now complete.
