SE Cypress Street is an important and busy arterial for the City of Hillsboro. The SE Cypress Street Improvements Project makes improvements to SE Cypress Street from the north side of SE Tualatin Valley Highway (TV Highway, OR 8) to the south side of SE Spruce Street in Hillsboro. 

Proposed Improvements

The project is designed to improve road conditions, enhance travel safety, and increase accessibility for neighbors, the traveling public, and visitors to the area. It includes the following key improvements:

• Rehabilitation of the existing SE Cypress Street road surface
• Retrofit and new curb ramp corners to meet ADA/PROWAG requirements 
• Raised vegetated center medians for traffic calming
• Solar powered vehicle speed feedback signs
• Solar powered pedestrian activated flashing beacons
• Intersection lighting to enhance safety of the pedestrian crossing at SE 28th Avenue
