Home MenuSE 3rd Avenue Sanitary Sewer Line Relocation & Replacement
About
The project will replace the existing sanitary sewer line located near 640 Southeast 3rd Avenue which runs underneath several homes by constructing a new parallel line. A special technique called Auger boring will be used to replace the original pipe with a 21-inch diameter sanitary sewer pipe in the new location. This technique will minimize disruption to the ground surface, adjacent buildings, rail, and traffic. While the work on the new sanitary line is being completed, a temporary sewer bypass system will be installed.
Proposed Improvements
The project is designed to upsize and improve the sanitary sewer line to increase sewage capacity and improve maintenance and cleaning efforts.
Proposed improvements include:
- Replace approximately 500 feet of sanitary sewer line
- Install two new manhole structures
- Replace road and sidewalk as needed
