To request a free lead-in-water testing kit:
- Confirm the Hillsboro Water Department is the resident’s or nonprofit organization’s water provider.
- Fill out and submit the online request form below, or call 503-615-6702.
Next Steps
Within two working days of submitting a request, pick up your kit at the Hillsboro Water Department located at 150 E Main Street, Third Floor, Hillsboro, Oregon 97123. Within seven days of collection, return the water sample(s) to the Hillsboro Water Department.
Test kits include:
- Lead testing instructions and submittal form (Spanish)
- Large sampling bottle
- Small sampling bottle
- A printed list of the steps you can take to reduce exposure to lead in drinking water
Water samples taken by customers will be analyzed by an Oregon Health Authority accredited laboratory. Within four weeks, results will be sent from the lab to the email address provided by the requestor.
If results show the customer's water sample exceeds the recommended action level set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of 15 parts per billion, Water Department staff will work with the customer on a re-sample and provide information on reducing lead exposure through drinking water.
