"Block 67" logoRising construction costs have led to a reevaluation of long-discussed development plans for the Block 67 property in Downtown Hillsboro.

The City of Hillsboro has agreed to pause conversations with the Project^ development team about the mixed-use project between 6th and 7th avenues, and Baseline and Washington streets. Now, City staff will work to update the City’s analysis of current market conditions.

Growing construction costs led the City Council to seek a better understanding of how to achieve the vision that community members expressed for the Block 67 site, while remaining fiscally responsible.

“This property has the potential to significantly benefit all of Downtown Hillsboro, if done right,” said Economic and Community Development Director Dan Dias. “The timing of the market has to align, though, for this project to move forward as originally envisioned. We’re working to determine what’s possible in this economic climate, and to understand all of the options for the site.”

Interested community members can stay updated on the project at Hillsboro-Oregon.gov/Block67.
