Through this program, donors have the opportunity to memorialize and honor the memory of a loved one.

In our Hillsboro parks, trails, and natural areas, donors can choose to pay to:

• Plant a new tree (plaque not possible)
• Add a new bench and memorial plaque
• Add a memorial plaque to an existing bench (inventory is limited)

Applications for the Memorial Donations program are accepted year-round.

The steps below outline the program's process:

• Choose the type of memorial and a location.
• Complete Application: After selecting your preferred type and location, please send a description of the location with a photo or map for reference and complete the Memorial Donation Agreement Form with the requested information. Download, complete, and submit the Memorial Donation Agreement Form.
• Submit Application: You may mail or email your completed application to the program coordinator. See details below.
• Application Approval: The coordinator will review your application. If the proposed location is not feasible, the coordinator will propose an alternative.
• Payment: Upon application approval, the program coordinator will contact the donor to pay the appropriate amount. Usually by check..
• Dedication Plaque Proof: You will receive a proof of the dedication plaque to review before fabrication.
• Installation: Posting of Public Notices undertaken if needed. If a dedication is requested at the installation time, staff work with the donor to coordinate the details.
