Outdoor Rentals

Residents, organizations, and businesses can rent park shelters, picnic areas, and other City-owned spaces in our parks, at our plazas, and on our streets or sidewalks. 

Depending upon the use of your rental, a Parks & Recreation Special Event Permit and/or Community Development Special Event Permit may be required. Find more permit information below.


Park Shelter & Picnic Area Reservation Information

To reserve a shelter or picnic area with a credit card, call 503-681-6120 or visit the Parks & Recreation Administration Office, 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.

The last day for shelter rentals in 2024 is October 13. Shelters will be first come, first served until the 2025 season which will run April 12 – October 12. Reservations for 2025 will open at 8 am on Thursday, January 2.

All changes to your rental must be made at least four business days prior to your event.

Rental Shifts

All shelters and picnic areas are available for two shifts per day:

  • First shift: 9 am to 2 pm
  • Second shift: 3 pm to dusk

Site Information

All shelters have:

  • 120 volt electrical outlets (except Bicentennial Park, Hidden Creek Park West, and Shute Park)
  • ADA accessibility
  • Nearby restrooms

Any outdoor City-owned space, such as within our parks and plazas, has the potential to be rented if requested date and time is available. Please view our view our Parks Directory for a complete list. Permits may be required.
