Facility Type: Vegetative swale

Purpose: Built in 1997, the facility provides stormwater treatment for the Century Terrace neighborhood and drains into Tanner Creek.

Proposed Repair

The vegetative swale has filled in with sediment and the facility no longer functions to provide water quality. The entire facility will be converted into a infiltration planter type of stormwater management facility to provide a more effective form of water quality treatment.

The repairs include:

  • Install a pre-treatment water quality manhole to help collect sediment and debris
  • Remove existing soil and add an engineered water quality soil mix
  • Install an underdrain drainage system to assist with infiltration
  • Install drainage structures to help provide overflow drainage during large storm events
  • Revegetate the entire facility with native water quality vegetation

Project Funding Sources

The Surface Water Management Local Service Fee funds this entire project.
