U.S. Department of Energy Leader Tours Shute Park Branch Library
Maria Vargas of the U.S. Department of Energy, and the Director of the Better Building Program, visited the Shute Park Branch Library on Tuesday, October 7. Maria's visited in recognition of the City of Hillsboro's success in reducing energy consumption by more than 11 percent over the past four years for a total energy savings of more than $400,000.

Volunteers Needed to Serve on City Boards, Commissions and Committees
The City of Hillsboro seeks volunteers to serve on various boards, commissions and committees. These are appointed positions (except for City Council, which are elected positions), and the City is looking for individuals interested in public decisionmaking and civic life to apply for openings. It is important to the City’s future that the whole community be represented, and we strive to have membership represent the full range of diversity in our community.

City of Hillsboro Takes the Workplace Charging Challenge
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is recognizing Hillsboro’s efforts to provide electric vehicle (EV) charging for employees through the Workplace Charging Challenge. DOE launched the Workplace Charging Challenge in January 2013, with the goal of increasing the number of American employers offering workplace charging by tenfold in the next five years.

Washington County and the City of Hillsboro Approve $100 Billion Investment Agreement with Intel
The Washington County Board of Commissioners and the Hillsboro City Council approved an agreement with Intel Corporation allowing up to $100 billion in investment in Oregon. The action by the two local governments was taken after a joint public hearing as part of Oregon's Strategic Investment Program, a private-public partnership that has driven billions of dollars of investment in Oregon over the last two decades.

Washington County, City of Hillsboro and Intel Announce Proposed $100 Billion Investment Agreement
Representatives of Washington County, the City of Hillsboro and Intel Corporation announced today that a proposed agreement has been reached for Intel to invest up to $100 billion in the county. The announcement culminates negotiations under Oregon’s Strategic Investment Program (SIP), a private-public partnership that has driven billions of dollars of investment in Oregon over the last two decades.

Hillsboro and Washington County Propose Additional Gain Share Funds for Washington County School Districts
Washington County Commission Chair Andy Duyck and Hillsboro Mayor Jerry Willey announced that Gain Share revenues for the current fiscal year have exceeded expectations. As a result, Chair Duyck and Mayor Willey have proposed sharing a total of $8 million with Washington County school districts, $3 million more than previously announced for 2014-15.
